Most of last week was spent on this lovely little invention called ‘Design Thinking Camp’. It was situated on Cockatoo Island, so the commute there daily was a decent bitch, but hey, total isolation. 3 days, 2 assessments, 1 group.
The first assessment was easy enough, map something we found on the camp. Naturally this lead to a lot of walking around the island and sitting around doing nothing. In the end we decided to map the windows and the negative space around the process of looking through a window, talking about the different kind of windows we found and the historical significance of them all. Given we had about 10 hours to do it, by the time Jenny got to photographing them our mobile-like display started to collapse, but you can see it a bit there.
The second assessment was by far a lot more fun. We were given a kit of materials and were told to construct a service or function to assist the inhabitance of the island in the case of which we became stranded. Some groups did bars or robots or services to function daily life, wereas other groups constructed society values – emperors and such. We did something along those lines and made up a new version of Christmas (on the grounds that most people need a holiday to keep happy) – basically an excuse for me to wear my mouse onesie and put mouse ears on Chris. It was heaps of fun to make up our own nativity while other groups had to build tables.
I don’t think our group took camp all that seriously, but hey, that subject is now over for semester and I have two more projects to finish up. Gettin’ shit done, yo!

I’ve had so much going on and so much to post that I can’t do things justice without scheduling posts, so I’m trying this out. These are from my friend Ewelina’s 18th last weekend. That night was interesting though, went from her 18th to several places in the city, including my first gay bar (for my other friend Patricia’s 18th which was the Sunday aka midnight). Took me long enough. Seemed to run into everyone I know that night again – but that’s always the way.
At least I learnt to not wear American Apparel lace in 10*C weather… blooooody hell.

A few snaps from last Tuesday, the Neuw Denim Fashion Week After Party. I went with Loretta, and met her friends Anne & Christian. New experiences, always great.
I’m trying to keep this punchy because I have to go pack and live with the boyfriend for a week. Knocked back my last post-break assessment today, and now I have design camp for the next few days, but at least I’ll get to be coming home to him. I’m not sure where along the lines we became 40 and married, but y’know.
So much busy!

Today marks 1 post-mid-sem-break assessment done, 2 more to complete. Unfortunately today was the easy one, and the next few days will be busy as hell. And then after this lot, I have a design camp, and then a whole crap load of end of semester assessments which I can’t imagine will be a fun time for anyone around me, honestly. But enough of this uni babble.
The last week of break was ok, despite nearly getting whooping cough. Which is apparently still a thing. And then multiple self injuries – skidding down a driveway and loosing a patch of skin off my elbow, punching myself in the throat, punching myself in the eye… I’m a dangerous person. Honestly it just seems like break was divided between uni work and finding new ways to prevent myself from doing uni work. But hey, s’all good. Didn’t do anything reasonably exciting either, but time with Dylan is always nice.
I did procrastinate enough to put up a new theme here though. Yeah it’s not the best but a bit of change never hurt.
5 weeks left. At least there are only 5 weeks left.

One week of uni break down, one week to go. Pulling in 4 consecutive days of study, running out of materials to make models with, 2000+ words written in one day… it’s been reeeeally relaxing…
The weekend has been good though. Friday consisted of shopping with Chrystal and Maddy, Teen Spirit that night where I managed to run into all sorts of people, and Lily’s 18th – where the photos are from. The weirdest part is it’s never occurred to me how often I really do play with my hair until you scroll through this blog. My favourite thing though is bleaching over the blue and my hair obtaining a solid pink hue. Makes no sense what so ever.
Oh well, things’ve been great. I mean yes, busy and draining and I hardly sleep as much as I want to but hey! Swings and roundabouts. I finish semester in a month and half, and I am so excited.
I need to do work here aswell, this place needs a new layout or something. So many things to do wow.
