Song: All In My Head – Good Shoes

Tra la la la la its Friday time! Which means I’ve watched Skins (Katies ep – which was amazing. Not as good as Cooks, though) and done my things & ready to blog about!

Well, this week, eh? The weekend & Monday was spent getting rid of the swelling on my face. Mum actually took me to the hospital, she was so worried about it. 3 hours in the waiting room & 5 with a doctor. Lovely how our health system works. But yeah, other than that I was fine. The swelling was gone by Monday, and most of the sun-damaged skin has peeled off/faded, which is important. Still, I’ve had to wear my fringe again (I cannot explain in human words how much I hate wearing it out. Its so damn annoying.) & heaps of sunscreen to prevent any more damage. I’m really not built to live in Australia, not with this climate & my lack of heat tolerance.

Other than that, my week has been extremely boring. Just school & homework & faffing about online – sites like Texts from Last Night & Not Always Right don’t really keep me busy, but when its no use starting up anything in PS, they serve as good time fillers. Actually, I don’t always like those kinds of sites, like FML & MLIA. ESPECIALLY not MLIA – it was alright when I first found it & that, but then it got popular. The popularity isn’t my problem, its the fact that all the stories are now all the same, and, more often than not, fake.

Ergh, I shouldn’t rant so much here, but really its a lot of what I think of. I’m really annoyed at my group at the moment; though I do say that a lot. What this time, then? Well, for the past week they’ve been organising to go to this U18′s club tonight, but naturally haven’t told us about it. I mean, I winged a little to Harriet when she accidental called me (thinking I was another Cassie), but she’s all “oh no, you’re invited, you’re part of this group, we want you there!” Yeah, likely, seeing as we were asked if we wanted to go, and we were told their plans for organising it. They probably expected us (Christine, Melanie & I) to say we didn’t want to go, but just presuming? Its rude. They’re ignorant.

Lets talk about something different. Oh yeah, remember when I mentioned a few blogs ago about a class studying Twilight? We’re going to have to, too. In English, we’re studying gothic literature, and we’ll be juxtaposing two texts. One of which is Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw, and, well, the second is the Twilight film. I’m kind of annoyed that Twilight is coming into our education system (where as Harry Potter is yet to be seen), but it could be worse. Our teacher hates the Twilight film/book/franchise, so its not like it’ll be glorified, and the film does have Jackson Rathbone in it (who I’ve fancied ever since his appearance in Criminal Minds), but still. The world is ending, I’m telling you.

Well, another issue of Computer Arts has arrived, so I’m going to return comments and read that. Fun!

i loooove texts from last night! its so hilarious!! ^___^
dont worry abotu those girls in your group. they dont soundlike very good friends if they dont want to include. whether they presume you wouldnt go or not. they should include you. period.
ohh you have to study twilight? hay. cheer up. we had to study Taronga in year 10. and Brand New World in year 11, and the movie Witness and some play that was from the 80s for yr 12 which was a bloody nightmare. all of these texts sucked serious ass. Infact MY teacher for another class could remember studying Witness as a text for english when he was in highschool! SERIOUSLY! your lucky :P

I still need to watch Katies ep of skins, Cooks was legendary. His brother is like the cutest thing. I’m not sure about his mum though haha.
Ouch, I hope your skin gets better soon. It sounds shit nasty :(
WTF THEY’RE INTRODUCING TWILIGHT INTO EDUCATION? that’s all we need, more teenagers scribbling MrS eDwArD cUlLeNzZ into their English folders and bumming robert pattisons every move. *sigh*. I apologize if you like twilight. :( The twilight fandom really gets on my nerves.
I love your layout though, misfits ftw. Can’t wait for the second season!

Ah, Skins talk! Whoo! I liked her episode too. I don’t think anything could top Cook’s episode this series to be honest, haha. Though having watched Freddie’s preview, it looks like it was filmed and edited quite beautifully. Are you finding Emily slightly annoying?… Usually I prefer Em over Katie, but Christ, I wanted to punch Em in the friggin’ face, haha. And poor Katie being… baron and all.

I’ve never been to the hospital for myself, but when I went with mum to get her results for a liver test. We literally waited 7 hours. Why? Because they couldn’t find her file! We literally sat there, cos we didn’t want to miss mum’s name when it was called out, but it never was… lmao, til everyone was gone. Gah. But to be honest, our health system is a LOT better than most.

Studying “Twilight” for Gender studies makes sense, but for English? … Unless of course your teachers will crap on how THIS IS NOT how to write, then I suppose its okay, hahaha. OMG, how long is comment? Anyway. I think “Twilight” is a seriously poor decision. There are so many other awesome novels out there. Boo to your school.

I think it’s insane that people are being made to study Twilight. It’s poorly written and not a brilliant source of literature at all.
But the film has hot men, so it’s swings & roundabouts, I guess.

First of all, OMG, WHY is Twilight even remotely involved in any level of advanced education? That just makes me all kind of violent. I agree completely with you. Harry Potter deserves to be a part of academic study simply for what it did to its genre. GRR. I have said it a million times-Twilight is one of the most poorly written series I have ever laid eyes upon. GAHHH. Gag meh with a spoon. If it’s any consolation, my udergrad thesis was on Harry Potter. Well, Hermione, to be exact, but at least it showed people the merit and quality in the HP series.

Otherwise, I hope everything with the doctor’s went okay! Love your layout too. :)

Your school is having you read Twilight? Wow. It’s amazing what impression that book (and movie) has on the world. I never heard of it until the previews for the movie, and seen it with my sister only because she loved Robert Pattinson (or rather Cedric Diggory ;) ) Afterwards we both got into the books, and now I’m just over it. I’m tired of hearing all the ranting and raving over something I don’t find to be THAT great of a story. Oh well. Everyone has their own opinions, right?

I want to watch Skins. I mean, I’m very curious with all this hype about the show! maybe I should get the dvd or something?

I would probably drop the class if I was forced to study Twilight (and this coming from a person who loves English). I mean, there are better books out there! *cough*HP*cough*

Aw, I love Skins :) Well, the first series. Ok, so I’m like midway through the first series, lol. But I love it :D
Hahah MLIA :’) I hate it now, I loved it at first and then everything started being Harry Potter and/or ninjas and I started hating it with a passion. I loved the average things, cos I’d be all OMG NO WAY ME TOOO! hahah. Now, idk, facebook has turned into MLIA and MLIA has turned into ew.

You’re reading Twilight? At SCHOOL? Wow… I really hope I never have to. We’re reading the Catcher in the Rye now, and Huckleberry Finn next – and I hate Huckleberry Finn with a passion – but… even that isn’t as bad as Twilight. What the hell can you GET from Twilight? How is it educational at all?

Way to totally ruin English class.

Except yeah, Jackson Rathborne is cute.

    Hey lovely! I’m back :) !

Eeee I loved Katie’s episode. “I’m Katie Fitch, who the fuck are you bitch?” Ahahaha too good! :D I hope Freddy’s episode tonight is good :) !

The grade below me at school are reading ‘Eclipse’ as part of their english reading on the topic of ‘Love’ or some stupid stuff like that. Don’t get me wrong I love all 4 of the books but reading them for education is getting too much now lol.

    Take care x

Some time ago, I really needed to buy a house for my business but I didn’t have enough cash and could not order anything. Thank heaven my sister adviced to take the business loans at trustworthy creditors. Therefore, I acted so and used to be happy with my small business loan.
