Song: (Its Good) To Be Free – Oasis

Keeping up with this Friday thing? We’ll see how it goes.

So what’s new? I’m back at school. Its been alright, I guess. I’ve had worse times. Its interesting seeing everyone again, brings back memories of them, suppose. Even if it had only been two weeks, it still feels like I hadn’t seen them in ages, the way I spent my time felt words away from the reality of school.

More exciting news, you ask? Well, on the Sunday before school, Mum and I went to this book store in the city (damn me if I ever remember what it’s called) and bought crap loads of books. Nothing for school, really, just for… stuff. I got The War of the Worlds, Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, Goodnight Mr. Tom (I read it for school and loved it, I don’t care), a book about my favourite artist ever, Francis Bacon, and a book about graphic design (which I LOVE, btw). The day after that, the Monday, the last day before school, I went out again with my brother so he could get books, didn’t get a lot, just Let the Right One In which Jess recommended me. I’m really looking forward to reading the new books (Alice / Let the Right One In / The War of the Worlds [which I'm half way through, and its SO good]), but naturally school assigned a different book for me to read, so I’m trying to get through To Kill A Mockingbird as fast as I can. Which isn’t very fast, pmsl.

I have a party tomorrow night. Dunno if I’ll go, I haven’t mentioned anything of it to anyone, pmsl. Besides, I don’t think the girl really likes me at all, and only inviting me because she invited everyone who I sit with at school. High school politics are so mental.

I got a new phone today. Its the Nokia N97, which is AMAZING. I love it so much. You can see an image here, except mine is in black. Its awesome. I love it. I’m repeating myself. I’m so boring, oh my.

New layout. Its… not so good, actually. I wanted to focus more on typography and everything like that, after reading the books I bought, but it just looks cluttered. I may change it around in a ‘mo, oh well.

Thanks everyone for answering the questions last post, I’m not planning on making the questions a common occurrence, but the answers have really helped. I’ve also handed in my short story, so expect it online next week or so.

Song: Stand Your Ground – Rancid

Finally! Holidays! Mind, in Australia its winter so we only get two weeks (not the summer most people are getting right now *shakes fist*) but its better than nothing.

So! My plans for holidays? Nothing too much. Next week is HBP week. Basically, on Tuesday my cousin is travelling up to see me, we’re going to a midnight screening on that Tuesday night/Wednesday morning (dressing up and everything), and then again on the wednesday with some different people, but still my cousin. That should be fantastic, but I’ll go through it all next time I blog (after its happened). Anyway, the day after that we’ll be going out into the city and rocking it up (Helen never gets the chance to go to Sydney, so this’ll be fun) and maybe meet up with some friends of hers, which will be a bit odd seeing as I don’t know them, but it’ll be alright. The day after that she’s leaving, which will suck, but next week will be a killer week and I’m dead excited.

Anyways, my last week of school has been… different, suppose. I got the flu a week or so ago, and nearly relapsed yesterday, actually, but its all good. There’s been this bug going around at my brothers school (like, a 6th of the school were absent at one point) and naturally I got sick from Jeremy, but I’m ok. I find it quite ironic that I had the flu when Rupert had swine flu. I… yeah, ignore me.

The end of term was also… interesting. We had this award ceremony thing, our school does it twice a year, where you get awards for effort and participation in class and that sort of thing (people who’ve been visiting me for a while may remember me mentioning this), and I got another one. I’ve gotten about… 6 ever since attending my school, so its quite tedious, actually, and they’re always surprises because I don’t do anything extra ordinary at school, I’m a relatively average student so, I don’t see what they do when they give me the awards, lmao.

In other and less exciting news, this image just came out, right after I posted this layout. That annoys me. A lot.
(I would have liked to use it in a layout, lmao)

But yeah, these holidays should be good and I’ll probably post a mega long review of HBP seeing as I’ll be one of the first in the world to see it (considering our time zone, Australia is generally ahead of the world, save New Zealand, and considering I’m seeing it the minute July 15 comes) but at the same time I don’t want to bore people. We’ll see how it goes.
