Song: (Its Good) To Be Free – Oasis

Keeping up with this Friday thing? We’ll see how it goes.

So what’s new? I’m back at school. Its been alright, I guess. I’ve had worse times. Its interesting seeing everyone again, brings back memories of them, suppose. Even if it had only been two weeks, it still feels like I hadn’t seen them in ages, the way I spent my time felt words away from the reality of school.

More exciting news, you ask? Well, on the Sunday before school, Mum and I went to this book store in the city (damn me if I ever remember what it’s called) and bought crap loads of books. Nothing for school, really, just for… stuff. I got The War of the Worlds, Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, Goodnight Mr. Tom (I read it for school and loved it, I don’t care), a book about my favourite artist ever, Francis Bacon, and a book about graphic design (which I LOVE, btw). The day after that, the Monday, the last day before school, I went out again with my brother so he could get books, didn’t get a lot, just Let the Right One In which Jess recommended me. I’m really looking forward to reading the new books (Alice / Let the Right One In / The War of the Worlds [which I'm half way through, and its SO good]), but naturally school assigned a different book for me to read, so I’m trying to get through To Kill A Mockingbird as fast as I can. Which isn’t very fast, pmsl.

I have a party tomorrow night. Dunno if I’ll go, I haven’t mentioned anything of it to anyone, pmsl. Besides, I don’t think the girl really likes me at all, and only inviting me because she invited everyone who I sit with at school. High school politics are so mental.

I got a new phone today. Its the Nokia N97, which is AMAZING. I love it so much. You can see an image here, except mine is in black. Its awesome. I love it. I’m repeating myself. I’m so boring, oh my.

New layout. Its… not so good, actually. I wanted to focus more on typography and everything like that, after reading the books I bought, but it just looks cluttered. I may change it around in a ‘mo, oh well.

Thanks everyone for answering the questions last post, I’m not planning on making the questions a common occurrence, but the answers have really helped. I’ve also handed in my short story, so expect it online next week or so.

Song: Devotion and Desire – Bayside

It is most definitely a coincidence for the past three blogs, they’ve all been on a Friday, a week apart. Definitely.
(I’m not being silly sarcastic, actually, it IS a coincidence, lmao.)

And now, Helen is gone. She left a week ago, pmsl. So what had the week in stall for me? Not much, honestly. I spent a lot of time getting my graphics section and portfolio up and running, because I know that if I don’t while I’m on holiday, I won’t while I’m at school again. Lazy sod.

Anything else? I got my letter from Jess, which was lovely. Back when I saw The Getaway Plan in May (the end of May), Jess saw Bayside who are my favourite band ever, so we decided that as it would be TGP’s final show, and I love Bayside, we’ll swap shirts. Mine is yellow and AWESOME. Jess has a matching one. Life is good.

I also finished up my holiday homework, which is good. I didn’t have much, the main thing (other than revision, blah) is to write a short story. I wrote mine about a murderous butcher, I’ll probably post it online after I hand it in (in the odd chance someone could accuse me of plagiarising, it would be best that I didn’t post it before I handed it in) so yeah, I’m proud of that. Proud I actually did homework before the last day of the holidays, lmao.

Speaking of holidays, one more weekend and one day and then back to school. Do not approve. I like being at home, being on my own, distancing myself from hoards of drama. I don’t get girls, and I don’t get teenagers, so I’m not going to enjoy term. And then term after next I have major exams… fun fun.

I probably will NOT keep up with the whole ‘lets ask readers questions after blogs’ thing, but I have been meaning to ask these few for a while. So answer them and you’ll get cookies! Actually, no, you get Devils Cake. I don’t think its called that, but it should. Its SO good it could kill. Best. Cake. Ever.

    Whatever, Cassie, pmsl.

    1. Would you use .PSD’s if I included them here?
    2. Would you use pre-made layouts if I posted them?
    3. What other content do you think I should include? Any other general suggestions?

    Song: None

    Christ, what a week.

So basically, I’ll tell you what’s happened this very eventful week. On Tuesday, Shivani came in the morning and we spent the day up at my local shopping mall, buying candy and stuff. We bought these things which we used to make wands with because it was the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince midnight screening. Throughout the day, more friends came, and we all dressed up. There were 5 of us in the end.

To the left is me being Remus Lupin, my cousin Helen (who had come up from the country to stay with me for a week – she’s still here, actually, playing the Sims 3) was Minerva McGonagle, and my friends Naomi, Shivani and Christine were Tonks, Snape and Trelawney respectively. We all got to Imax at around 10pm, hung out in the park around there for a bit but realised it was stupid because it was cold, so we went in and there were already lines, so we stayed in there for a bit. Then, naturally, we were let in and got to watch the film with the first 10ish minutes in 3D. The 3D was amazing and realistic and incredible.

I won’t go into too much detail about the film itself, I wrote a long review on LJ but I don’t want to bore everyone, so I’ll just say I loved some parts (Quidditch, Felix Felicis, young Voldemort), didn’t love others (Cormac, Lavender, H/G Kiss), but long story short, its definitely one of the best films in the franchise.

Anyway, after the Imax screening, we all came back to mine and stayed over, and then the Wednesday, Helen & I went to see the film again (LOL) with some other people, but it was cool because the cinema we went to was awesome and so great.

The day after, Thursday, Helen and I went into the city. We bought some stuff, Helen got some clothes and the Red Riders CD (which I’ve stolen, haha), and I got an Iron Man comic book (Legacy of Doom, been wanting that one for AGES) and the Harry Potter 6 soundtrack and video game (I played it a little last night, so far I’ve done the three major things [potions, quidditch and dueling] and its definitely an amazing game (as far as HP games go, that is). They look a lot like their characters and a lot better than OOTP). We also went to Capitol and to the Japanese photobooths (image to the right). That was a lot of fun. Oh, and we found this amazing candy store in the city and bought a lot of stuff. I have this massive gob-stopper and if I eat it for too long, it cuts my tongue. Its been bleeding. I’m used to it, though, lmao.

And so, right now, Helen is playing the Sims 3 (she doesn’t have it yet) and she’ll be gone in 3 hours. I’ll miss her, we’ve had an epic time. Its been so exciting and amazing, this past week, its going to suck next week. I need to write a short story for English which’ll be bad because I can’t do SHORT stories, all my ideas are long and complicated and can’t fit within 1000 words. School sucks. Good thing its holidays, then.
