Song: She’s Got Standards – The Rifles

I am actually pretty tired at the moment. But that’s my own fault and I don’t really care. I should stop having so many dreams about babies and cricket and stoner Dumbledore and being naked.

The past week at school has been, well, different. On the Monday we had the excursion to the sea side we were meant to go on ages ago, you can see an image of the sea side to the left to prove I actually went, pmsl. It was actually kinda shit because it was too much ‘ohh look at plant’ and too little ‘ok time to rest your sore sore feet’. I had about two cups of sand in my shoes. It wasn’t great.

And then today, Friday, we went to the old quarantine station they used back in the day when the first settlers came to Australia. Apparently its haunted. Whatever. We visited their hospital and showers and kitchens (apparently the most haunted place in Australia. Our tour guide (who had a Yorkshire accent, I SWEAR) was quite proud of it). It was considerably better than Monday considering we got to buy ice-cream after and have a mini-picnick.

Also this week I got glasses. I’ve needed them for a while but never did anything about it until my brother went for an eye test. I look like a massive shit in the photo, but people reckon they look alright, so hopefully they don’t look too bad. I’m short-sighted, by the way.

Besides all that nothing too interesting has happened. Obviously we lost the Ashes on… Sunday, was it? Basically, the Ashes was all I talked about on Monday, pmsl. I talked at people because none of them knew what I was going on about. Broad definitely deserved Man of the Match after Friday night, but I don’t think its fine to blame Ponting for our loss. I mean, I don’t like Ponting, but I don’t blame him. Our lack of experience, AND LACK OF BRETT LEE, were the main contributing factors. And the fact that England gamed up, Swann, Broad and Anderson played really well. Broad was incredible on Friday. And that has nothing to to with the fact that I find him attractive. More to do with the fact that he got 5/37!!!. Basically out of all the played balls he bowled, 5 lead to wickets and 37 lead to runs. For non-cricket folk, its GOOD. But in saying that I was also proud of good ol’ Mitch and North. And I also laughed so much at Northeast. Mainly his name.

That’s enough cricket talk. I’ll most likely bore you to shit. I need to put up a new layout but I have no idea how to code it so I probably won’t, pmsl. I did the layout. Jess helped me figure out the coding. I love her.

Song: The Jeweller’s Hands – Arctic Monkeys

Things have been happening in my life. What’s this?!? Yeah! pmsl.

On Thursday I had to go to the optometrist, I need to get glasses. Bifocals, to be exact. They should be ready sometime next week, which will be good because I’ll finally be able to read the school board, pmsl. Afterwards, Mum stuck around with me so I could buy some ‘nice’ clothes, a dress for Friday night (read on), and another dress for a party tonight. One’s black & grey, the other is a red tube. I’ll post photos later, maybe.

But yeah, last night, my brothers football club had its annual fund-raising dinner. I had to go. It wasn’t fun. They served this really… strange meals and had the worst entertainer you could imagine. She was about 47 wearing short leather skirts and wigs and… it wasn’t good. But on that same note, the waiters (some of them) were attractive. They also had all these collectable items around the room up for bidding. They had a signed Harry Potter poster and wand from Prisoner of Azkaban (image to the right). The starting bid was $995, so I obviously didn’t place a bid (as if I have the money!), which was a shame. They also had an Ashes urn (anyone watch it last night? Christ, Australia are embarrassing) replica, which was about $105.

Also on Friday, my visual design took us to a fashion exhibition in the city. To be honest, it was a major let down. It was only one room and like, 5 pieces. The image to the left is the most… interesting and artistic and fashionable piece in the whole room. It was tiny. Got out of school, though, so that’s good.

I got the new Arctic Monkeys record yesterday (well, Mum got it for me). Its so. bloody. good, you have no idea. Or at least I think so. Its a lot different to their other stuff, but its still cool in a different way. It always annoys me when people stop being fans of bands because the music is different, and not necessarily bad. Alex needs a hair cut though, pmsl.

I really don’t like this layout. Mainly the coding. Columns are too thin. Might try and muster up some skill and make a new one. We’ll see.

Song: The Beginning of the End of the Night – Red Riders

I have a cup of tea and the steam coming from it is beautiful.

The past week has been a blur. Mixed with studying for an impossibly hard maths test I took on Wednesday (the last part, we didn’t have time for, so that’s on Tuesday next week, but that part is dead easy so whatever) and… not doing all that much, actually. Oh and doing my Science SRP (Student Research Project) which I have to give a presentation for on Monday. *sigh*

But what have I been doing all this week? Well, not much, as I’ve said. I’ve been ploughing through the pile-up of comic books I have (I don’t know why I buy them and then not read them for weeks and then read them all in once, I’m mental), and… Yeah, this week has been seriously boring. Wow. You never notice that until you’re told to write about it.
Well, I wasn’t told, but you get what I mean.

One thing I do know, though, is I finally got around to watching Starkid‘s A Very Potter Musical on youtube. I’ve had the link bookmarked forever, but never watched it because I was paranoid it would use up all my internet bandwidth. But now we’ve changed our plan, so I finally got to watch it. And yes, its just as brilliant as everybody says. Part 1 of Act 1 (two Acts total) is below, but in my opinion it only starts getting really got at around part 3-5. I love Voldemort and Draco.

Erm… what else? I made a new layout. Its not very complex… its, well, I don’t really know. But its got the Red Riders on it (even if the layout is blue) and I love them, so its there.

OHHHH! I have something to say now, pmsl! Remember that short story I mentioned I wrote for English? Well, it was due two weeks ago so I may as well post it online. You can read it here.

I have NOTHING to say, so I’ll go back to my tea now.
