Song: Lets Pretend We’re Married – Prince

Oh look at me, doing all my Christmas work before Christmas. Not that this counts as Christmas work, but you get the picture. New layout & coding & fancy things. NEVILLE!

As it is still holidays and will be until late January, I haven’t been doing much. I did see Avatar, though. I saw it on Monday with Belle, Michelle and her friend (remember the new friend I made that I posted about before?) but we couldn’t find them (bad organisation on our part). Turns out they came rather late anyway. But whatever, the movie was amazing. The scenery and the world of Pandora they had created was incredible, the detail so amazing. The storyline was FULL of social comments about history and foresting and such but I mean, it was true and honest. And the CG was awesome. We saw the film in 3D too, so if you get a chance make sure you watch it in 3D. It looks so natural and real (well, as real as it could get haha).

Other than that there hasn’t been anything really going on. On Sunday Mum took me to this BBQ which turned out to be my friend Stacey’s “family” birthday celebration (Mum & her mum are like, TIGHT), so that was interesting. Maddie & Emma were also there, along with some guy friends who I think I’ve met before. Oh well, they seemed a lot more talkative than… a year ago, I suppose. There’s something new, me socialising, pmsl. Anyway, they had this AMAZING ice-cream cake. It was like (and this is all ice-cream), a hazelnut base, chocolate centre and then ontop it had all these different scoops, so I got coffe, mango and raspberry. It was SO GOOD.

Yesterday I finished watching the first season of Misfits (no, not the band, the show). Its an e4 (England) show and its about these kids who screw up and have community service, and then this freak storm comes and gives them abilities… like Simon can turn invisible and Alicia can make people have sex with her if she touches them. Its really really cool, even if my explaining is shoddy. One character, Nathan (played by Robert Sheehan (who is also going to be Luke in Cherrybomb with Grint) who is FIT), is absolutely hilarious (“There’s only one thing young ladies should be inserting in themselves, and that’s knowledge.” / “I always wanted to be a cheat, I’m just too disorganised. I struggle to remember one girls name”) even if he is a little bit of a prick. He makes the show, though. And Simon, the quiet kid, reminds me of myself so much (aside from his perverted nature, lmao).

Why do I always talk about shows (aka Misfits) that no one I know watches? Oh well, you should. Not that I’m in a place to tell you what to watch, but whatever.

I’m getting really confused about my dreams, three nights in a row they’ve included a romantic interest. I think my brain is feeling sorry for me and my lacking love life, so I dream it. How rude.

Anyway, Christmas is soon. In two days. We’re going to my uncle’s and doing family things. I’ll be able to see Helen (my cool cousin) and catch up with her. And I know I’m getting Public Enemies on DVD (amongst others) which I’m very excited about (I missed it in theatres). Yeah, how shallow. Meh. Christmas is always such a headache with family gatherings, it takes away any meaning. Whatever, I’ll leave you to it. Have a happy holiday, guys!

Song: Never Gonna Be Enough – Red Riders

Summer, summer, summer… see, I didn’t think you’d rain, lmfao. Its raining at the moment. I quite like it.

Anyway, shall we get to the weekly events? Saturday night was Maddie & Stacey’s joint party (they’re born two days appart, so they often join up their birthday celebrations). It wasn’t that bad of a party, really. I met Michelle, she’s Maddie’s cousin/friend/something who no one knew and wanted to talk to. So I talked to her. The whole night. It was cool. She was very nice, much nicer than some people there (but this isn’t the place to start up some beef with kids from school). The downside to the night, though, were the mosquitoes. I got over 25+ bites from that night, my whole right foot was inflamed & swollen, and my knees, other foot and hands suffered too. Most of them are either gone (minority) or in the process of going (majority), which is bloody good. I’ve been using a lot of Soov and tea tree oil and ice and all sorts. Hell.

On Monday, I got my School Certificate back. I took the exam like, 4 weeks or something ago, and this exam is what every kid in NSW does at the end of Year 10. It doesn’t mean anything, and I’ve still got two years of school left. I did alright in the exam, though, for class work I got all A’s except for one B in PD/H/PE (typically, I suck at sports), and in the exams, I got 4 “band 5′s” (that’d be like, 75%-89% marks. All mine were high 80′s), 1 “band 6″ (in geography… WTF?!) and a “highly competent” in computer skills. I’m not necessarily pleased with the results, but I’m not disappointed either. Oh well. That’s over with and that is all I care about.

So after all that, on Tuesday, my group decided to get together for a little Christmas/end of year celebration. It was alright. We did Kris Kringe/Secret Santa and I had Maddie, so I got her this little book about 50′s fashion, which she seemed to like. Evie had me and I got a big bag of candy. Its ACE. Except I’m going to try and make that last for a while. But yeah, the day was nice, and probably the last time I’ll see most of them until next school year.

So thats pretty much my week. I’ve also caught up on all the Glee I’ve missed out on. I’m not a TV junkie, let alone that kind of high-school-drama TV person, but I can’t help liking Glee. The final the other night was COOL, even if my little Artie/Tina shipper heart didn’t get satisfied. Oh well, there is always next season, right?

Song: Underneath the Sky – Oasis

Wow, for once I actually have things to blog about. No time for an introduction!

On Sunday I went with Christine, Naomi and Shivani to see the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. It is such a good film. I adore Lily Cole. If you get the chance, watch it! Its really trippy at times, but its really awesome. The SFX were really interesting, and the story itself is really good. It would probably make a lot more sense, though, if we saw the beginning (we missed it buying candy, lmao.) After, we went to a book store and I got Handling the Undead (by John Ajvide Lindqvist – he also wrote Let The Right One In which I loved) and a Wolverine graphic novel. I also got my Kris Kringle gift. After we went back to our local shopping mall and just hung out, seeing our teachers at the Latin Store (that place is strange – but SO COOL! It has a stuffed lama in the front of it).

Monday and Tuesday were nothing much, Wednesday was formal. Wheeee formal. So many people were so excited for it, they’d been looking forward for it for like, 6 months. I’d only decided to actually go 2 weeks ago, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. My dress (ordered from England) came the monday before, and Mum & I had gone to get shoes etc. the Saturday before. This is what my outfit looked like. But anyway, we had pre-drinks (which wasn’t like, drinks drinks) at Lily’s place (image!) which involved a lot of girls squealing and a lot of complaining about sore feet. And parents taking photos. Odd.

Anyway, after I went to the place in Stacey’s Mum’s boyfriend’s Monaro. My god it was a beautiful car. I was sat at a table with Stacey and her date Jared, Emma and her boyfriend Griffin (?), Maddie and her friend (Jake?), and I think Kelly and Fiona and their dates. I was the only one without a date. It was kinda upsetting, but whatever. Not everyone had dates so its ok. Just sucked that I was the third wheel (in a group of 11…). But no, it was good, the food was tasty (even if it did look odd and I wasn’t quite sure what it was) and the place looked really nice. Basically we got there, took an official photo (Melanie, Belle and I), sat down, ate, got up and took a bunch of photos, ate main course, more photos (and photobombing! WHEEEE! Love doing that so bloody much), desert and awards (didn’t win anything, surprise surprise), then dancing for the rest of the evening! I danced on and off, my feet were sore and it was rather hot. The sweaty look is never cool.

All in all, it was a good night. What made it better was the teachers letting us off school for the rest of the week, and on our last day we only need to turn up at 12 to pick up exam results. Which is bloody brilliant (no school, as if that can ever be bad!). I’ve spent quite a bit of time watching my Ultimate Collectors Edition Harry Potter 1 & 2 DVD’s which arrived Tuesday (they were my birthday gift), and they’re awesome.

This blog is really long and I’m sorry about that. Seeing as I’ll be on holidays now, what kind of visitor content do we want? I’m thinking tutorials but I’m not sure what people would like (graphic/coding/program tips/etc). So any advice on that would be great!
