    Hell – Tegan and Sara

This is Halloween. This is Halloween.

Its rather unfortunate that Halloween fell on a Sunday. I mean, you can still celebrate (we just had trick or treaters come to our door) but you couldn’t have any good party because, well, school. But whatever. Halloween was never big here anyway.

My past week has been busy. Kind of. My brother had been on school camp so it was rather quiet at home, rare believe me. But anyway, Monday afternoon, hung out with Dillan, simmered in my no-working. Y’know I haven’t had t work all week? Its kind of grand. But yeah, Tuesday chilled home. Wednesday with Dillan again, Thursday I went to the hairdressers (just got more of what I currently have, so I basically just look even more ginger) – and the brother came home. And then Friday I did a whole bunch of Art coursework (my VAPD is actually beautiful; the research I’ve done in there), which is kind of lame for a Friday night but it sure beat going to a graveyard piss-up like a bunch of people I’m not really friends with did.

Saturday was pretty interesting. It started my normal kind of Saturday – movie with Dillan. We saw Red which was actually really enjoyable (I’ll review it when I can be bothered hahah sorry) & had Easy Way and general relaxing city times. Checked out the new massive shopping mall in the city centre – its gigantic & so high-street its kind of bizarre. I mean, there will be a Miu Miu store. And I nearly had a heart attack seeing the Versace Fall Campaign on on display. Weird things to see in Australia.

But yeah, we left the city & went back to mine for a bit, then we went to my friend Stacey’s for I suppose a Halloween party thing. Not quite because there were only about 15 people there, so just a small gathering. It was nice; Maddie, Stella, Loretta, Jake, Fletcher, Grant and Jarryd were all there (aswell as Dillan & I), and a bunch of people I do not know, though I didn’t spend any time with them anyway. It was nice, watched a bit of Rugby, cooked vegan pasta, general relaxness. I hardly get to hang out with people and Dillan so it was nice that this worked. Maddie (who’s dating Jake) and I have decided our boyfriends need to be mates, so this is brilliant.

But yeah, today was basically slept sleeping & doing more Art coursework, and yeah. Kind of boring and miserable but I guess this is the day when the dead rise or whatever the legend is, so. I still don’t have any clue what I’m going to do for my birthday but you guys are probably right, I should do something. All I know is that I have a lot of assessments that week aswell, which is QUITE annoying. So we’ll see. Summer is soon; I’ve decided I’ll go down for a week to see Jess, which will be lovely (especially as Dillan will go overseas for basically all summer, which’ll leave me bored and moody). I’m just so over everything right now BLAH.

    Strobe – Friendly Fires

I think, if I ever get married, I will never ever ever let myself, or my significant other, start a home business.

My week has been so stressful. Dillan had a school camp, so he was away for half of it, meaning I was home, meaning I worked for Dad’s home business a lot. Monday; worked. Tuesday; worked. Wednesday; few odd jobs. To come home straight from school, right into work, its difficult. Stressful. Bad few days. Luckily Dillan came home on Thursday, so I got to see him. Kept me out of the house & not working. Friday was surprising and I didn’t have to work, but that doesn’t mean I remember what happened that day.

Saturday was unique. It started the day really hot, which is not really expected mid-October. Still, Dillan & I went to see Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D (reviewed here !)… yeah 3D glasses are not attractive on anyone, lmao. But the film was alright, and afterwards we walked out and, well, not really to my surprise because I looked up the weather, but it had rained. Sure as hell was surprising for Dillan, though, haha. Relaxed the rest of the day, was nice, despite the rain.

But naturally, miserable Sunday. Shocking weather, apparently – I naturally had to work for 12 hours that day, so I didn’t really go outside (see why I’m so stressed ? You’d think working for your father would be easy, but hell no). And then Monday, I thought I was done so I got to see Dillan, but no came home and worked till 11pm. I don’t get why my parents wouldn’t let me hang out with people till that time on a school night, but its ok for me to work until that time. Just a little tad of nonsense right there.

But anyway, today’s been the first day without work or me knowing I have work to do. Today has actually been really productive; sorted out my Year 12/Senior Year school Jersey name (JB HI-FI – its a technology store here, and ‘JB’ are my initials. No, not Justin Bieber.), finally bought the school skirt (I’ve been wearing trousers for something like 4 years. Yeah, don’t ask), caught up on all my course work (not that there was much to do; just a geography response) and read all my magazines. Am I not a beast or what ?!

Anyway, I’m not much in the mood for rambling about nothing. My birthday is coming up in a month and once again I’m torn as to whether or not I should do anything about it. Last year I spent my birthday on the internet, and I don’t want to do that this year. I would do something with Dillan, but he’ll have work. So I’m torn. But its ages away so I can stress more later.

Nothing Lasts Forever – The Living End

Today has actually been shockingly bad. But more on that later.

We’re back at school. Yeah, not too fun. Biggest stress, actually. See, in Australia its Term 4, aka the last 10 weeks before our summer holidays. Usually this is when we have final exams, or finish up the grade. Nope, this year things change for me, and I’m starting the HSC course (making me year 12). Which means that last ‘grade’ (year 11) was only 3 terms long (which suits, because the Preliminary HSC course is only meant to be that duration). Which also happens to mean that this time next year, I’ll be doing my final high-school exams (uni-entry ones). Mental stuff. Typically, you’d expect to come back to a really full on first week with heaps of homework, etc etc, but no, not really. I think they’re slowly dipping us in, which is really good because after coming back from holiday, intense school is the last thing I want. Its also really good because I dropped Modern History (meaning I do 5 subjects this year, which is the minimum), which means I get free periods to do work, and some in the afternoons so I get to leave early. Its a lot to adjust to (I finish school at 12:30 on Tuesdays, with only one class that day).

Even though school isn’t as full on as I anticipated, this week has still been incredibly stressful. Exam marks back (did reasonably well in everything, sans maths which I did ok in, but we all know that “ok” isn’t enough), having to re-organise all my school belongings for a new year, teachers telling us about the course for the next year… its intimidating.

Anyway, besides all that, weekend. Most interesting part of each week, right? Saturday had the most stressful lead up (Dillan wanted to see me before he went on camp for half the week, his family wanted him over, had to fight to be able to do both… stressful !), but it was nice. Got up stupid early, went into the city, had breakfast, saw Let Me In (I’ll review it when I get time, aka when its not late & I don’t have school in the morning review here !), which I rather liked & found interesting to compare it to Let The Right One In, there were lots of similarities and lots of differences, lots of parts included from the book that weren’t in each film, etc etc. Still rather Let The Right One In though. But yeah, other than that we hung around, I bought magazines, maintained our usual habits. We went home early so he could see his family, won’t be seeing him for half a week, so. I mean, its not bad cos I have gone much longer without seeing him, s’just knowing that othertimes, he was always 30minutes away, but god knows where he’s going to be.

But yeah, that night we had a family dinner, which was pleasant. And then today I had to go to a church service for a christening… I’m going to leave my personal views on religion out of this in case I offend anyone, but that wasn’t the most enjoyable experience. And then today I got to work for 8 hours, which is actually more stressful than anything. I’m still not finished the job, and its 10:18 right now, and I only “finished” 10 minutes ago. Working for your father’s home business sucks a lot.

Sorry this entry is so bland and picture-less or whatever. As you can imagine, stress = words. Late o’clock = lazy. I’m sorry. I’ll do you a favour & end here? Excellent.
