Black Bubblegum – The Dillinger Escape Plan

I have been so busy. I am a busy person.

Last week was uni orientation, so basically spent the week touring the campus and getting to know staff and stuff. There was this pub party organised by the student union, which is impressive when you consider that The Holidays played live. They were incredible, the local acts around here are getting a lot better.

There was also a cute house party for high school people before uni at my friends house. It was great, mainly due to deciding to sit on everyone all night. Poor Yannick was the longest victim.

Sunday, though, my friends Sunday… Soundwave 2012. The Mission in Motion, Four Year Strong, Bad Religion, bit of Lamb of God, Dillinger Escape Plan (so. fucking. good.), bits of Slipknot and System of a Down. All in the one day. Going with a group of energetic blokes was a bit of an odd choice – on one hand, got burly mates lookin’ after you, but on the other 5 seconds later they run off for the circle pits. But it was amazing, I could not have asked for a better day.

And then today, well, today my friends, I started university. I am a proper adult. One day down, it’s pretty good. Excited to get in the grit of it and get organised.

So if that isn’t the definition of a busy gal I don’t know what is.

Die Antwoord – Fatty Boom Boom

February is insane, apparently. I mean, summer is ending up here and I’ve definitely been making the most of it. From pub crawls leading to seeing The Drums DJ with a collection of beautiful Swedish blokes, to finally seeing Tiffany after her trip to Hong Kong, to coffee with new and old friends, to one of the most enjoyable nights out celebrating Garrett’s birthday I’ve had in a while, it’s fair to say I’ve been substantially busy.

It’s been bitter sweet though – on Saturday Chrystal, Michelle and Lilli are leaving to move for university. I mean they are some of my closest friends, and they’re moving 4 hours away. Monday we had a bit of a gathering to farewell them, but I don’t know, just doesn’t feel enough. Bit of sad times right now, hey.

Ah well, at least the new Die Antwoord album rules. And I have a few more fun things lined up – lots of uni stuff to organise. BLAH.

    Keep on movin’ – Five

Hi, my name is Jess and I change my hair very frequently.

The past week has been rather busy. Saw Sherlock Holmes on Monday with Samantha, and rather loved it. Saw Clinton that night too which I hadn’t since… before November, actually. Coffee with Sophia Tuesday, living at Chrystal’s for the rest of the week. She did my hair on Thursday (she’s been my hairdresser for AGES now), and that night went out to celebrate Jess’ birthday with a bunch of people I hadn’t seen for so long – Michael, Nick, Adrian and Max (aswell as the usual gang). Friday night Jess had a proper dinner celebration thing with ~the girls~, drinking really badly made cocktails right out of the mixer.

Saturday night – where the majority of these photos are from – was Bec’s 18th. It was a decent house party, save the shit from a whole bunch of drunk teens. Came home covered in mud and suddenly best friends with people I thought didn’t know who I was. Bit cute.

God this post screams 90210 drama. At least it’s not Baywatch drama – which is my new favourite show.

    Ohhhh summer holidays.
