Violence – Blink 182
Its surprising how time goes during holidays. Each day feels like it drags on forever, but when you think of a week, it feels like a heartbeat.
On Sunday Mum took me to the store & I bought a new pair of shorts (I need to adjust them, though. Cos they were on sale they were a size too big so I need to hem the ends) and a lovely fake sheepskin vest. Its brilliant & I wore them to see Maddie on Monday for coffee. It was lovely to see her because I hadn’t in a while and we always seem to be able to talk for hours. Thursday I also got to catch up with Christine & Melanie – we didn’t do much, just caught up, but I did buy that birdcage & candle, and a few new posters. I redid my posters last night, I believe. Throughout the week I also kept up my magazine hoarding habits.
I’ve actually read a lot these holidays. Finished reading my English text, Romulus, My Father & am now reading Scar Tissue (also for English). Accomplishing a lot!
The days that I don’t do anything significant are usually laced with video games (The Sims 3 & Fallout New Vegas, namely), trips to the shops with my brother, and re-watching films. Oh and a lot of How I met Your Mother. Pretty standard, lazy stuff. Naturally I’ve been missing Dillan a lot, but this weekend I have heard from him a lot more than expected, so that’s been nice. He’s back in 4 weeks.
Just 3 weeks left. Daunting.

Anyway, Monday night was Social. Spent the morning bumming about, Dillan came around in the afternoon & once I was dressed, etc, we went over to Stacey’s (mainly to dump my stuff). We all (there were heaps of us; Stacey, Blake, Fletcher, Jarryd, Grant, Maddie, Emma, Stella, Loretta, Harry, Yasmin, Daniel Dillan and I) caught trains/busses to the warf, considering out social was on a boat. Saw everyone at the warf, heaps of ‘oh you look nice / so do you‘ bullshit but y’know how it is with these things. Got on the boat, everyone did their own thing. It was nice, the boat toured around Sydney Harbour, spent most of my night with Dillan, Loretta, Harry, Yasmin and occasionally Daniel. It was nice being able to see a lot of people, such as the boys from camp & meet a lot of people that everyone seems to know that I never met. It was quite cool how the boat had 3 levels, if you wanted to dance you could go to that level (naturally Dillan and I didn’t, like, at all, lmao), if you wanted to eat there was that level, or you could chill up on the roof (which is where we spent most of the night making endless dougong jokes about Lo). There were obviously downsides to the night (cold, bit hard to hear/see people sometimes) but in all it was really nice and brilliantly organised (Eleanor, a girl in our grade, did it all. She’s amazing). After the boat party, a bunch of us naturally went to McDonalds (there was a shortage of food, see) & then we (Stacey, Blake, Maddie, Fletcher, Grant, Stella, Dillan and I) went back to Stacey’s. We legit spent 2 hours trying to erect this massive tent, in the end we all gave up and watched Grant and Dillan build it. By the time that was done and we were all settled, it was like 4am or something, so we all went in that tent and slept (hardcore, right?). Left at about 10 the next/that morning and just attempted to catch up on life that Tuesday. That tent party though was brilliant, Stella kept us all entertained and I think it was especially great because everyone got along well and it was just us and noone being annoying and it was just great; in a lot of ways probably better than the social itself.
The few days after that were a mix of going to school (Wednesday & Thursday – so incredibly boring because A) hardly anyone turned up and B) our year 11 course has finished so they’re legally not allowed to teach us at all) and chilling at Dillan’s. Meant I finally saw Zombieland which I loved – can’t believe it took me this long to see it. Saturday came around again, and Dillan and I maintained our Saturday habits by shopping for magazines (NO and Russh [which I've already read lmao]) as well as buying
Yesterday I finally saw a film in theatres, which is something I hadn’t done since Iron Man. Yes, its only been two weeks, but for the past 2 months I’ve been seeing HEAPS of films. Anyway, Dillan and I saw Robin Hood. It was actually a lot better than I anticipated. Yeah, Russle Crowe’s accent was all over the place, but the direction of the film was great. And the sets and stuff. AND MARK STRONG OMG I OFFICIALLY LOVE THAT MAN. He is SO GOOD. Other than that, though, there wasn’t much going for the film. At times you couldn’t figure out exactly what the film was about, what the main focus of the plot was on, which annoyed me. But its ok. I like it like I liked Avatar, it was a good film, just not my favourite.
The rest of Saturday was great, too. It did rain after we left the theatres (walking around the city in the rain is actually great, though, so I don’t mind), but Mountain Dew made up for that. It was also the night of Yasmin’s/Danielle’s/Elisha’s birthday celebrations. The three of them just bunched their birthdays together, and celebrated at Yas’. It was fun, we had bonfires & trampolines & cake & stuff. It did get cold, though. But it was great, I haven’t seen Stacey or Maddie at a party in ages and those two are great, so it was nice being with them. And Danielle. She’s so nice, it was great when she came to sit with us.
