High End -JJ

A few photos from the last week of highschool ever. Just to explain – unless you’ve been reading these past few weeks – in Australia we graduate now (end of “Term 3″) and then sit final exams in late October/early November. So it’s been a bit hectic. In terms of the photos:

1. Celebratory breakfast during a free lesson.
2. Cute little photo of my geography class. Classic Vaughan (teacher).
3. Before the opening act of the Year 12 Graduation concert.
4. The end of our act in the concert. Basically the graduating year perform dances or acts or whatever for the rest of the school. Our act was a “survival guide” to high school.
5. Not getting proffesional graduation night photos, but dicking around besides them.
6. Final “group” photo school event – picnic for Year 12.

It’s been an emotional week (more due to the fact that I’m going through a fairly tough break-up [yeah, never mentioned that. Part of the compilations. Rather not get into it, but points if you can guess who the man was] than graduation – I’m not a sentiment for leaving schools, etc), but y’know. Got a fairly packed few weeks – of study and revision. Great fun for all involved.

Note that this is probably the last time I get to use the “school” tag here. Surreal.

Hold Me Down – Motion City Soundtrack

That, my friends, is what its like to be doing your HSC in 2011. Its my study plan (as of today), leading up to my final exam in 63 days. It may not look it but I’ve actually been working a lot. But, seeing as today is strike day (where the Teachers union decides to take a day off), I’m getting a bunch of stuff done. Including blogging here.

There’s been both a lot and not a lot going on. That makes so little sense. My grandfather went into hospital yesterday and apparently his surgery went to plan, but that’s all we know. We’ve had to put my grandmother in temporary care as well, so its been rather full on. Of course I’ve been studying a lot, school remains incredibly cruisy and its starting to really feel like the end, with plans for our final assembly and graduation night. Its bizarre in Australia how we graduate, then do our leaving exams.

There was a party last Saturday, as well, which has caused a bit of chaos. Boys are very silly, aren’t they? Ahh well, besides that one exception it was a rather nice night, been a very long time since I’d been to a party or anything so it was good to finally relax, y’know? Caught up with people from the past, was great. AND I finally have my hair a colour I like, which I’m sure you’ll see soon enough.

Also, I’ve avoided my Hamlet essay marvellously by re-organising the blog categories, so get ready for some new ways that I’ll blog, weekly roundups are not as fun as it used to be, and change always rules.

Ahh well. 63 days. And less than 3 months until I’m an official adult. So much change!

Song – Band

This is so awkward. I had to end things with James. It all happened far too fast, and in the whirl of how crazy everything has been I thought it was what I wanted, but everything has caught up with me and I realised that I can’t do this yet. I’m not ready for another boyfriend. He was lovely, but it just wasn’t working. Its for the best, y’know?

But other than that cheerful subject, after a clearly stressful week, had another busy weekend! Friday night was Fletcher’s 18th. Fletcher is this legend of a kid, so I rather enjoyed the night. It was one of those great gatherings where most people get along (or at least no drama) and could just enjoy eachother’s company. Met a bunch of new people too so that was nice. AND got to see Jake again, he’s great.

Saturday night was Yasmin’s birthday dinner. It was her birthday on Tuesday, so Saturday we all went out for Thai – just the girls, so Maddie, Stacey, Yasmin, Loretta, Hayley and Stella. Had a bit of a repeat of the other night and went to Max Brenner again, amazing moment in which we all started singing her happy birthday, and everyone there joined in. I love it when that happens.

So yeah. I’m starting to wonder if I should tell Jamie Britain about my blog so the next series of Skins can be based off my life. This is insanity. (Speaking of Skins; FINALE?! I loved it. Franky is me).

Welcome Home, Son – Radical Face

Its been an intense week. Life has really picked up its pace lately and I have been having a bit of a stress trying to adjust to all this change. But we’re getting there.

The past week has been a mix of miss-matched meals (pancakes for dinner twice say whaaa), homework & studying, and general schooling life. My weeks are generally so uninteresting. Weekend was nice. Stella, Maddie & I went to the indie part of town, shopping and such. Bought two outfits pictured; that dress (very Alexa Chung), and a sheer navy shirt with a simple black shirt. Fairly decent. We then went and had tiramisu in the grave yard (being generally indie losers) and visiting magazine shops. Didn’t actually buy any this time; its a rarity.

Naturally, though, the highlight was the date I had with James (aka guy I met at Mardi Gras). We saw The Adjustment Bureau which was actually rather good. James was adamant that Emily Blunt’s character Elise was just like me. I will get around to reviewing that film, and some others, when I get a chance. But yeah, the date itself was nice and cute and such. Won’t go into too much detail, but I guess its “official” or whatever. I don’t know. I know its soon, so I’m definitely going to make this calm and not rush anything or make anything too serious too fast, but its nice. I like him.

Things are simple, y’know? I have good mates, a nice boyfriend, working on decent grades, I’m generally content. My A Day To Remember tickets arrived last week too so I’ll be seeing them in May! I have a very positive outlook right now, everything is working out.

Evil Boy – Die Antwoord

One picture only? Last blog you got heaps so, y’know, have to balance it out.

This past week has been alright. Got my Senior Jersey (y’know how some uniformed high schools get special blazers for the graduating year? We get Jersey’s, rugby style) which is really exciting for the rest of the grade, bit meh on my part. Whatever, s’a bit weird being a senior now though. We have our own section of the school and stuff. We’re actually old. Fancy that.

This weekend was the best, though. Mardi Gras again! During the day Stella & I went out to buy my dress/outfit; such a good time, Stella always knows what to dress me in. You can’t really see my dress too well (there weren’t that many photos from the night), but this is it. The night was actually so good. Watched the parade for a while because a girl from school was marching, but then Bec needed to pee so a bunch of us went toilet hunting, so by the time that was done we weren’t bothered to go back & just chilled in Hyde Park. Mardi Gras is always great because you run into so many random people; ran into the group of guys we used to hang out with like 3 years ago – so surprising that they remembered me! Much like last year I met a lovely guy (Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras always works so well for my hetero relationship life), so we shall see how that works out.

Sad thing is I’ve lost my voice so I sound so ridiculous. I hope its just from shouting & not from sickness. That’d be uncool.

So yeah, good weekend. Obviously. And yours?
