O’Children – Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds [Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt1 Soundtrack]
Yeah, if anyone knows me they know that Harry Potter has consumed my week. I had to wait until Saturday to see it, but it was worth the 2 day wait. Its so hard to express my feelings toward this film, but I reviewed it here. So that’s where I stand. I remember during the previews I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to see this’ – and to be honest I didn’t – I don’t want Harry Potter to end.
But anyway, before I get all sentimental. The week has been a mix of study for English, working on Art, and being hyped for Potter. I also even managed to type up reviews of all the films I’ve missed at school but naturally I didn’t save it to my USB so as soon as I can get that file, I’ll put them online. I ought to work more on those reviews because I watch a lot of films, but we’ll see. Maybe over the summer.
Other than that, my brother’s birthday this week, and mine the week after. Heaps of things have happened with the family lately – I guess you could say they’re good things despite my personal view – but I’m not going to go into too much detail too early. Basically all I can say is that everything’s going to change.
Also my finger is bending weird again. Jesus.
Also also, my laptop Spike exploded. I might have to bury him. He was always my favourite laptop. Thank god I have my other PC Tyler, though.

These past few days have been incredibly odd. A lot of “firsts”. And no, not those firsts, but things like ‘first time on a plane’ and ‘first time out of the state’. That kind of thing. Yeah, my family & I went to Melbourne for the Digital Life Expo. We flew down on Thursday (also happened to be Dillan’s birthday. That was brilliant. /sarcasm), got there, and went straight to the DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) there. Got a pretty nice Charlie Brown dress there. Friday we saw the show for a bit while Mum & Dad worked (that’s why we went down there, because of their business) & relaxed. Saturday Dad took us walking around the city (which could’ve been fun, if Dad wasn’t such a tourist. I mean, yeah sure, its a fancy library… but essentially, its just a library. Nothing extra special, we have one in our own suburb) & had room service (the best bacon & chicken burger of my life). Sunday (today) we visited the show again & came home. And now I’m here freezing my arse off and putting off unpacking.
This week has been pretty… blank, I guess. Nothing much has happened. On Monday both art classes went on an excursion to the Art Gallery of NSW to visit the Archibald Prize & look around. We got there (my art teacher was late so she txted me. Yeah, we’re FULLY tight now), chilled in the Domain for a while, went in & looked at the permanent collection – they COMPLETELY surprised me, having a Bacon piece (he’s my absolute FAVOURITE painter, so I naturally had a little spaz and danced around for a while. Then stopped and stared. I must have spent 5 minutes infront of that piece. It was Study for Self-Portrait (1978) btw). We then went in to view the exhibit for the prize… it was all so boring. Seriously, Australian artists SUCK.
This weekend has been another one of those crazy-packed/eventful weekends. Its actually mental that my social life has increased. If you’d asked me in January if I ever expected it, I’d ask you if you were stupid and laugh in your face (because, really, people + me? Wasn’t likely). Anyway, Friday night we had Patricia’s birthday. It was quite chill, there was a bonfire & music & stuff. I had an alright time, it was a kind of awkward night; there was an odd mix of people. Around 40 girls showed up, all from different crowds in school, and like, 3 boys (Patricia’s boyfriend & two of his mates). Oh and family & parents. Just awkward. But I made the most of it, I guess, bitching with Stella & Danielle.
But yeah, Saturday night Evie had her birthday dinner party. It was so GOOD. The food they cooked was amazing, and Evie’s place was just gorgeous, like something out of A Midsummer’s Night Dream. She also had this dancing room & this amazing star projector and it was amazing and I’m going to look into buying myself one for my room. I’d honestly never turn it off. But yeah, the night was lovely (even if Lucy remained a bitch and it did get cold). Got to spend time with Harriet which I haven’t done in ages (even if I see her every day, which is odd) and that was tres fun.
