Hometown Glory (High Contrast Remix) – Adele
I’m getting better at this blogging thing, it is Monday. Just last night I actually did something so I didn’t get a chance, and I really couldn’t be arsed at 2am to blog.
Anyway, the past week. First week of holidays. Could possibly be the most active holidays so far, just in that week. Monday I went over to Dillan’s, watched The Hangover and Ace Ventura 2 – it was my first time seeing The Hangover; I can definitely feel more included in life & understand people’s jokes now, haha. Good film, though! Tuesday, back at Dillan’s, he surprised me to hell and decided to watch Harry Potter, so we managed to watch the first 3 films that day. Wednesday I saw Christine (something I rarely get to do anyway, because we don’t sit together at school any more) – we watched Cherrybomb (she had been dying to see it), some bits of my HP Collectors Editions and this TV show, Miranda. It was a good day – lovely to see her. Made KILLER nachos, seriously, they ought to have won a medal for how amazing they were. Anyway, Thursday was back to finishing off the Potter films with Dillan, which has actually turned bizarre because all of a sudden he’s incredibly interested in the series. I mean, he never hated it, but was never particularly into it – now its all Potter jokes and references and quotes… its actually kind of brilliant, lmao.
Friday I actually don’t remember – mainly cos it was a day home. I believe I did spring clean & throw out a heap of clothes (I ought to go replace that but kind of poor). Saturday, well, was Saturday, lmao. I’ve taken to accepting that every Saturday, Dillan and I will go into the city. Its just how things are. We didn’t do much this time around, I don’t think, obviously bought magazines & looked at DVD’s and things. I actually seriously do not remember what we did on Saturday, its kind of scary. No wait, no, we went to a book store and chilled in there for hours.
Sunday was bizarre. So I start the day normal, do some work for Dad’s home business, then I get a message from Stella to go out to the city. So meet up with Stella & Dillan, go into the city. Never been in the city to hang out on a Sunday afternoon/night, it was so weird. Anyway, met up with Adrian, Max, Arnesh and Stephen (from camp), as well as Adrian’s friend Callum and a friend of his who I never met. We spent some time in a coffee shop for a while, then Stella wanted to go bowling, so… we went bowling! Spontaneous and so weird – Stella won. Afterwards we went to McDonald’s, most of us ate there except for Max who was dying to go to this Chinese restaurant, so after we were done there we went to his restaurant – it was so overpriced, reaching the bill was insane. But it was all good fun, good company. Even if it did rain & make me look like a crazy lady, lmao.
Anyway today was Labour Day, a public holiday, so Dillan and I decided to actually go back into the city again for the 3rd day in a row. He recently got an iPhone, so we bought him a case and a screen protector for it, played around a bit, walked to God knows where, just didn’t do much & relaxed. We’re actually kind of pathetic and run out of things to do, so if anyone has any suggestions ? haha. But yeah, no, it was a nice day.
Its a bit crazy how we’ve already passed a whole week of holidays. One more left! I do hope to make the best of it and be out of the house as much as I can. Although I will have a day of like, website work. I think this coming Sunday… it’ll force me to blog at least lmao. On Friday I managed to get my PC up to date with all the files relating to this site (after they all got lost in the Great Virus ’10), and I have started working on some resources to upload. Naturally a lot I had to put up have been lost, so I’m not sure what I’ll do there, maybe re-create but it obviously won’t be the same. If you have any requests, let me know!
I need to list things. I need to list a to-do list, which will involve lists of other things. Jesus, this isn’t right. I shouldn’t start to get organised in the middle of the holidays. It doesn’t work like that, lmao.

On Sunday I went with Christine, Naomi and Shivani to see the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. It is such a good film. I adore Lily Cole. If you get the chance, watch it! Its really trippy at times, but its really awesome. The SFX were really interesting, and the story itself is really good. It would probably make a lot more sense, though, if we saw the beginning (we missed it buying candy, lmao.) After, we went to a book store and I got Handling the Undead (by John Ajvide Lindqvist – he also wrote Let The Right One In which I loved) and a Wolverine graphic novel. I also got my Kris Kringle gift. After we went back to our local shopping mall and just hung out, seeing our teachers at the Latin Store (that place is strange – but SO COOL! It has a stuffed lama in the front of it).
Monday and Tuesday were nothing much, Wednesday was formal. Wheeee formal. So many people were so excited for it, they’d been looking forward for it for like, 6 months. I’d only decided to actually go 2 weeks ago, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. My dress (ordered from England) came the monday before, and Mum & I had gone to get shoes etc. the Saturday before.
Anyway, after I went to the place in Stacey’s Mum’s boyfriend’s Monaro. My god it was a beautiful car. I was sat at a table with Stacey and her date Jared, Emma and her boyfriend Griffin (?), Maddie and her friend (Jake?), and I think Kelly and Fiona and their dates. I was the only one without a date. It was kinda upsetting, but whatever. Not everyone had dates so its ok. Just sucked that I was the third wheel (in a group of 11…). But no, it was good, the food was tasty (even if it did look odd and I wasn’t quite sure what it was) and the place looked really nice. Basically we got there, took an official photo (Melanie, Belle and I), sat down, ate, got up and took a bunch of photos, ate main course, more photos (and photobombing! WHEEEE! Love doing that so bloody much), desert and awards (didn’t win anything, surprise surprise), then dancing for the rest of the evening! I danced on and off, my feet were sore and it was rather hot. The sweaty look is never cool.
Moving along from my health issues, I got this bad boy on Tuesday. It actually came out this Wednesday, but I got it early because I pre-ordered it. Mum also pre-ordered me the Ultimate Collectors Editions for films 1 & 2, which comes out (in Australia) on Dec. 2, a day before my birthday, so its all perfect. Australia has actually had it pretty good, we get the HBP DVD like, 20 days earlier than the US, and the collectors editions a week and a bit, I think. Moving on, the DVD is so good. I forgot how much I loved this film. GOD Rupert, Tom & Frank Dillane (teen Voldemort) kill me. Oh and Hero Tiffin-Fiennes (young Voldey), but not in a ‘oh you so sexy’ way (that’s gross, the kid’s 12!), but in a ‘oh my you so awesome I want to be your friend’ kind of way. I’ve actually said on several accounts that I’d like to be friends with him. I get along well with kids that age (my brother is, see, so its not like I go about making friends with 12 year olds, pmsl). But whatever, thats just one part of the DVD. The features this time are amazing. I still think the features on HP4 were great (had a lot of a more BTS part), but these are really great because they feature a lot of the younger/teen cast doing things, which is quite fun. I love Matt Lewis (Neville), especially the bit he hosted with Alfie Enoch (Dean Thomas). If you get your hands on it (not until the 8th of Dec in the US/UK, I believe), make sure you watch them!
So Jess came and went. We had a very good time, actually. She came on Sunday, and we went to the city, I took her to Utopia which is like our version of Hot Topic, which she really enjoyed, and we then saw Inglorious Basterds (late, I know. I was surprised it was still in cinemas, actually). I actually proper enjoyed the film, Jess thought it was a little gorey (but this is Quentin Tarantino) but yeah, not too bad. Afterward, we rented out some DVDs (Interview with the Vampire & Becoming Jane). This wasn’t my first time seeing Interview, so it was fun re-watching it, and I’d only seen about half of Jane, so yeah. I liked both films (proper vampires & James McAvoy, what could go wrong?!). Afterwards we watched Order of the Phoenix because Jess couldn’t remember that film (honest! I actually wanted to watch Iron Man, but Potters cool too, pmsl). So yeah, 4 films in 1 day. 2 of which consisted of burning down theatres, pmsl.
