Song: The Jeweller’s Hands – Arctic Monkeys
Things have been happening in my life. What’s this?!? Yeah! pmsl.
On Thursday I had to go to the optometrist, I need to get glasses. Bifocals, to be exact. They should be ready sometime next week, which will be good because I’ll finally be able to read the school board, pmsl. Afterwards, Mum stuck around with me so I could buy some ‘nice’ clothes, a dress for Friday night (read on), and another dress for a party tonight. One’s black & grey, the other is a red tube. I’ll post photos later, maybe.
But yeah, last night, my brothers football club had its annual fund-raising dinner. I had to go. It wasn’t fun. They served this really… strange meals and had the worst entertainer you could imagine. She was about 47 wearing short leather skirts and wigs and… it wasn’t good. But on that same note, the waiters (some of them) were attractive. They also had all these collectable items around the room up for bidding. They had a signed Harry Potter poster and wand from Prisoner of Azkaban (image to the right). The starting bid was $995, so I obviously didn’t place a bid (as if I have the money!), which was a shame. They also had an Ashes urn (anyone watch it last night? Christ, Australia are embarrassing) replica, which was about $105.
Also on Friday, my visual design took us to a fashion exhibition in the city. To be honest, it was a major let down. It was only one room and like, 5 pieces. The image to the left is the most… interesting and artistic and fashionable piece in the whole room. It was tiny. Got out of school, though, so that’s good.
I got the new Arctic Monkeys record yesterday (well, Mum got it for me). Its so. bloody. good, you have no idea. Or at least I think so. Its a lot different to their other stuff, but its still cool in a different way. It always annoys me when people stop being fans of bands because the music is different, and not necessarily bad. Alex needs a hair cut though, pmsl.
I really don’t like this layout. Mainly the coding. Columns are too thin. Might try and muster up some skill and make a new one. We’ll see.

To the left is me being Remus Lupin, my cousin Helen (who had come up from the country to stay with me for a week – she’s still here, actually, playing the Sims 3) was Minerva McGonagle, and my friends Naomi, Shivani and Christine were Tonks, Snape and Trelawney respectively. We all got to Imax at around 10pm, hung out in the park around there for a bit but realised it was stupid because it was cold, so we went in and there were already lines, so we stayed in there for a bit. Then, naturally, we were let in and got to watch the film with the first 10ish minutes in 3D. The 3D was amazing and realistic and incredible.
The day after, Thursday, Helen and I went into the city. We bought some stuff, Helen got some clothes and the Red Riders CD (which I’ve stolen, haha), and I got an Iron Man comic book (Legacy of Doom, been wanting that one for AGES) and the Harry Potter 6 soundtrack and video game (I played it a little last night, so far I’ve done the three major things [potions, quidditch and dueling] and its definitely an amazing game (as far as HP games go, that is). They look a lot like their characters and a lot better than OOTP). We also went to Capitol and to the Japanese photobooths (image to the right). That was a lot of fun. Oh, and we found this amazing candy store in the city and bought a lot of stuff. I have this massive gob-stopper and if I eat it for too long, it cuts my tongue. Its been bleeding. I’m used to it, though, lmao.
However, the highlight of my week was most definitely Supanova! For most people who don’t know what it is, its pretty much a convention (
It was really cool! There was a big cosplay competition, MAN those people have dedication. Next year, we’re planning on going in EPIC cosplay. We just need to sort it out, lmao. There was also a wrestling ring, which we only briefly went to because one of the wrestlers was really hot. I also bought some badass stuff, got an Iron Man figurine (Mighty Mugs own my life) and a HBP pop-out book. Its dead awesome! You can see ‘em to the side there.
