My Friends – Red Hot Chili Peppers

I haven’t done much this week. Monday I went out with Melanie to the city, we bought all these different Mountain Dews to try – keeping in mind that here, different Mountain Dew flavours are really rare. And then today, Melanie & Christine came over to make a Harry Potter packet cake we found at the store – it was REALLY nice I’m rather proud. We also watched the original Tron while eating it – that movie is so bizarre to watch now, haha.

Besides those two days, I mainly chilled at home on my own. Did some sketching (as you can see, haha), reading, and watching crappy TV. Also helped out the lovely Ben with his layout, so be sure to head over there and share some love!

As you can tell, boring week. S’all good, though, its been horrible weather so I’ve been able to marinate in the benefits of air conditioning, haha.

2 weeks until school. Time to get cracking, I guess.

Violence – Blink 182

Its surprising how time goes during holidays. Each day feels like it drags on forever, but when you think of a week, it feels like a heartbeat.

On Sunday Mum took me to the store & I bought a new pair of shorts (I need to adjust them, though. Cos they were on sale they were a size too big so I need to hem the ends) and a lovely fake sheepskin vest. Its brilliant & I wore them to see Maddie on Monday for coffee. It was lovely to see her because I hadn’t in a while and we always seem to be able to talk for hours. Thursday I also got to catch up with Christine & Melanie – we didn’t do much, just caught up, but I did buy that birdcage & candle, and a few new posters. I redid my posters last night, I believe. Throughout the week I also kept up my magazine hoarding habits.

I’ve actually read a lot these holidays. Finished reading my English text, Romulus, My Father & am now reading Scar Tissue (also for English). Accomplishing a lot!

The days that I don’t do anything significant are usually laced with video games (The Sims 3 & Fallout New Vegas, namely), trips to the shops with my brother, and re-watching films. Oh and a lot of How I met Your Mother. Pretty standard, lazy stuff. Naturally I’ve been missing Dillan a lot, but this weekend I have heard from him a lot more than expected, so that’s been nice. He’s back in 4 weeks.

Just 3 weeks left. Daunting.

Today is January 1, 2011. I actually hate new years because I never get used to typing out the new year. You’ll wait, I am still writing 2009 so this’ll be a problem for me.

As you can tell, I came home early from my trip to see Jess early (I’m back today, Saturday, when I was meant to come back next Thursday) because I feel terrible. I need to get healthy soon because I’m going to die. I feel horrible about leaving but I still enjoyed my time down there, we went to the beach a lot and hung out around her place (her backyard faces a massive bay), rung in the new year with her & her brothers throwing glow sticks into the water. It was nice and relaxing until I started feeling sick. But I’m home now & will hopefully feel better.

But seeing as I’m home, and going through my favourite blogs seeing ‘Best of 2010′ posts, I figured this is a good time to reminise on my own 2010, so here we go!

So it started off like this;

Met this loser;

Saw friends a lot, few birthday parties, went to the Easter show…

Flew on my first plane, visited Melbourne;

Went on a school snow trip;

Said goodbye to an old friend & celebrated 6 months with this loser;

More time with new friends;

Studied like a maniac;

Went on some great school trips;

Celebrated 17 years alive;

Saw A LOT of films;

Changed my hair billions of times;

And ended the year visiting my best friend;

So I guess it was a pretty good year. A pretty active year full of new people and events that I never expected. This year finally felt like a teenage year; full of friends, boyfriends, drama… I have definitely changed this year but I think its ok.

So anyway, how was your new years/2010′s?

Today’s rough. Dillan’s leaving tomorrow. I’m actually reacting to this a lot worse than I thought I would, but y’know. Hopefully the next 6 weeks will go quickly.

The past week was fine. Dillan & I went into the city on Wednesday to go Christmas shopping; I bought him a computer mouse (y’know, one of those gamer ones, bitches love gaming mice). In typical fashion he’s yet to get me a gift, but he’ll either get one when he’s back or from Brazil anyway so. I don’t mind. I also got Scar Tissue to read as a related text for English, which I have started a bit but its still early holidays, y’know? Got ages.

Thursday hung out at Dillans, watched Lord of the Rings. I thought it would be the last time I saw him so I was pretty devastated by the end of the day, until I get a txt later that night saying his Mum invited me to her dinner on Christmas Eve & got me chocolates so I had to go. So I did, it was nice, had his mother’s friend over who awkwardly told me I’d marry Dillan, which y’know, is awkward.

But yeah, that’s it. 6 weeks without him. I feel horrible because the goodbye wasn’t… I felt like I had to vomit from anxiety (I reckon) so it wasn’t… whatever. But it’s not like he’ll have Internet access either, so I’ll be… yeah, I’ll stop.

But anyway. Christmas? Yeah, seemed pretty insignificant this year. Had some of the family over yesterday for lunch, spent most of my time looking after my baby cousins (as seen above). Didn’t get anything exciting either so I won’t get into that haha. And today, boxing day, had some family friends over for an hour which was nice I guess, but clearly I have things on my mind so. AND NOT TO MENTION how badly Australia have done in the Ashes today. Jesus Christ.

But yeah, on Tuesday I’m leaving to go see my friend Jess for a week and a bit. I’ll be with her and her family with limited internet so PROBS no blogging, but yeah. I’ll spend New Years with her which I’m hoping will be good, and she’ll keep my mind off Dillan (I hope).

Anyway, hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend & a brilliant new year! I’ll see you all in 2011!

I am currently in the midst of getting organised for school tomorrow. This is so depressing.

This last week of holidays has been pretty eventful, if I say so myself. Tuesday I went over to Dillan’s, we watched The Book Of Eli (which I loved – apocalypse’s will ALWAYS be a spot for me – hence my obsession with Chernobyl) and From Paris With Love (entertaining, LOVE JRM, lame ending), then chilled in the mall for a bit where we managed to see a lot of people from Dillan’s school (then again you always see someone up at the mall, regardless of how ‘uncool’ it is to be spotted there [this is the 'lame' mall, but its a block away from mine so we're always there]).

Wednesday was shocking. Met up with Emma, Maddie, Stacey and Stella, decided we’d be going to the beach but it was terrible weather so we were kind of inclined not to go, but went to the area anyway. Get there, it starts raining. Typical, huh? So we went to McDonalds for a bit, and once we were done went out again. Sky had cleared up, perfect weather. So we get to the beach, set up camp. I’d been feeling pretty shitty all day due to my female anatomy, but all of a sudden I became really dehydrated & sun-stroke-y & basically wanted to die. Decided to try get a drink, nearly faint on the way there. So had to get my Dad to pick me up, but long story short, no beaches for me for a while. And honestly, I’m perfectly fine with that.

Thursday was spent doing some form of ‘Best-of-Harry-Potter-thon’ with Dillan (didn’t feel like doing much, so just chilling at his with some good films was nice). Its still really bizarre how into Potter Dillan has been these past few weeks, but its pretttty sweet lmao. Friday was a really awesome day. Met up with Yasmin, Maddie and Stacey, went to the city. Met with AJ (Hugh was meant to come but ditched). Went back to the suburbs, found a pretty sweet coffee shop which we sat in for what seemed like ages. Then decided to sit in a park for a while, before going a few suburbs away for dinner. Chilled in a park that night, really sweet. It was a really relaxed way to spend the afternoon/night, with some of the greatest people. Shame Dillan had work, though. Got to see him Saturday, though, haha.

Spent Saturday in the city, bought Iron Man 2 & a few DVD’s for the family, as well as a few text books for school, and Graphic Design for Fashion (left) which I’ve read parts of but adore on instinct. I absolutely love graphic design texts, they’re always full of incredible inspiration, and this is essentially my two loves in one (design + fashion. Hopefully my future). But yeah, after all that Dillan came back to mine for dinner, which was nice. The mini-rivalry between him and my brother entertains me to no end (Dillan plays xbox, Jeremy plays PS3. Gamers and their rivalries… I tell you).

Sunday has been spent getting ready for school, & working (designing packaging, so actually mildly enjoyable work, as much as work sucks). I keep hearing everyone being all morbid over the fact that tomorrow we start the last year of high school, but really I don’t feel it. Its not that big of a deal, there is STILL a year to go. I don’t know, everything seems “serious” now, though for the past 2 years things have been rather “serious” and I have been rather numb to that (not in a bad way, I’ve gotten reasonably good marks). I guess now, before everything starts, people will freak out, but it’ll calm down. But I will work hard this year and I will make an effort (not to say I haven’t been doing so already), I will just do so in a calm and collected manner.

Anyway, got to get going. Wish me luck for school, I’m going to die – most likely from a bizarre sleeping pattern than anything.
