Fly – Sugar Ray

This was me yesterday, taking a mid-exam break to go to my friends place and dye my hair again. The colour lasts nearly a month, I’ve come to realise, so we (obviously) had some fun. We’re very cool.

I’m currently in my 2 week mid-exam gap (the timetabling of exam’s hasn’t been kind to me), halfway through exams. I’m never going to have to study English or Mathematics ever again, and it’s an amazing feeling. This time in 2 weeks I’ll have done with the HSC all together, which is simply lovely to think of. Thanks everyone for all the kind wishes!

And yes, I finally changed the design of this place. About bloody time. There will be modifications and such after exams, but the other one was killing me too much to leave up. So enjoy! And enjoy Halloween!

The first week of holidays has been fairly decent, I have to say. Mainly, my time is divided by people & school work. Gotten a fair bit done so far, and will probably continue well into the next week and a half. If I’m not watching the new Harry Potter blu ray, or on Tumblr, I’m out. Often doing nothing with Luke, or being fools with Maddie, Stacey, Stella, Luke and Fletcher (and a webcam), or out for coffee with Maddie and Stacey, or coffee with Chrystal, or getting my hair done.

So yeah. Thats been my week, basically.

As you can tell, new layout. I’m pretty iffy about this one, so I don’t know how long this will be up, but I’d been toying with an idea like this for ages so I figured I may as well. The previous layout had been up for a total of 5 months, which could be a record (Edit: it is). Ah well, we’ll see how this goes.

Other than that, not much is up. Its funny, even though this time last year, I was hardly as sociable or active or any of that, I don’t have more to say. Ah well, Easter soon. Big plans?

Zomby – Pillz

This is my last week of Summer. Tomorrow I’m back at school, aiming at completing my final year of high school. By September, I’ll be a graduate. By November, no more high school exams ever. Next January, I’ll (hopefully) be accepted into University. And to think, I’ve known some of the same bloggers than I did when I first started highschool.

This week hasn’t been all that much. Wednesday, Australia Day, I went with my family to some family friends – one of which is also a teacher at my school. Luckily she’s only had my class once (don’t remember it though), and she teaches Science, which I don’t take. So not too awkward. But yeah, that’s really the only time I went out. Naturally I was meant to be out this weekend, but out of lack of organisation, and my annoying headcold (yeah, thanks Dad for that), neither plans happened. But its ok, I should be in fine health by tomorrow morning, and if not… well, we’ll get to that.

Big thing this week though; the new Skins! (Spoiler warning) To be honest, I liked it. I have no bias in terms of generations, so a new cast was interesting. It does seem a bit clique-y, but regardless, it was an interesting take because in previous Skins, things like Facebook (or Friendlook, either way) weren’t prominent. But I really liked Frankie, she’s actually gorgeous and I adore her style, and I’d love to see more of Matty (the gun guy – although you never found out his name [thanks E4!]). Rick also seems cool, and he is technically supposed to be the guy I like, but he’s just lacking to me. I don’t know why. Oh well, Matty will be mine to love forever.

Anyway, I guess this past week of bumming around, watching films, playing Sims, downloading heaps of music & building fanlistings turned out to be a good way to spend the week. There was a big party last night that I wasn’t invited to (I hardly know the guy, so I’m not resentful) which I’m sure I’ll hear all about tomorrow. At least its the last week without Dillan.

Things are changing.

School is at this really odd place right now. You see, we’re finishing up the grade. In the middle of the second semester. Year 11 is like that. So right now we’re finishing up all our assessments/assignments (English speech went well, just need to re-proof my Geography report [2700 words on ethnic communities in my area... sounded a lot more fun before I actually started]), and then we have exams in like 5-6 weeks or something. Its actually been death but its weird to think that this grade will all be over in a matter of 7 weeks.

Its also different with friendship groups. Like, its no secret that the current people I sit with at school aren’t my closest friends. Other than Smell and Chris, I do not hang out with any of them, really. Its always been like that, but I think things are finally changing now. I was talking to Samantha all Friday lunch – Samantha and I have always known eachother, always been in eachothers classes, but only now have actually started talking outside of them and being friends – and then Maddie and Stacey came along and we all basically agreed; I’m going to start sitting with new people. Namely Stacey and Maddie and their group. Stacey and Maddie used to sit with the people I currently do, but couldn’t handle the drama of it all and made their own group. And they’re more than happy to put up with me so I’m going to be there now. Its actually the best feeling in the world because I’m so sick of sitting at lunch being bored to tears, or listening to other people talk about things they do without you. Its just like, stupid.

I guess it all ties in with snow week next week (keeping in mind that I’m Australian and its winter here so there is still snow in the mountains). Everything was all complicated with it cos of figuring out rooms, but I’m going to be with Smell (cos despite her being in the “old” group, she’s still nice), Maddie, Stacey, Stella and this new girl, Rosie (who most people seem to like but I don’t know like, at all, so we’ll see how that goes – she sits with the people I’m leaving, she’s all tight with them, but she’s also new so its like, eh). I also need to sort out packing things (went shopping for some stuff today, bought the COOLEST underwear and the COOLEST pitch black sheets. Thought you should know lmao) and actually mentally prepare myself for this. 6 days. Waking up at 5am on Sunday morning to be at school at 6:30 to leave will be hell. Not to mention that this trip is in conjunction with a boys highschool, so all the girls will be annoying and boy-crazy. Boy-crazy girls annoy the hell out of me. But I guess I’m just biased cos it isn’t Dillan’s school, lmao.

But other than that, what have I been up to? Not much, honestly. Saturday was another rather pleasant day, Dillan and I went to the city for a while (got irresponsible with magazines again, as you can see), and went back to his for a bit, chilling. Its actually weird for us cos this is the 2nd week in a row we haven’t seen a film (if you read my blog regularly you’ll know that we see A LOT of films). It’ll be fine though next week, cos Scott Pilgrim VS the World comes out. But yeah, its cool that while film-seeing is kind of our “thing”, we can still have a nice time not doing that. Yeah, I’m blabbering again, I know. I’m sorry.

Speaking of films, did a bit of site clean-up on Friday, and I’ve figured that cos I see so many films, that I ought archive all the films I do see & what I think about them. I don’t know, check it out here if you want. I’ve done all the films that have been released from this year and a few from late last year.

Also speaking of which, I have been meaning to change the layout here for AGES but cos everything has been so busy lately I haven’t had a chance. Hopefully with snow week next week this week will be quiet so I can have some time to do the things I want that aren’t homework. Well that, and go to the hairdresser. Fringe again. I know, every time I’ve had a fringe this year I’ve just grown it out and pinned it back, but my massive forehead is starting to scare me, so we’re going to rock it up, old Hayley Williams style.

You know what, I’m just going to make a to-do list. That’ll solve all my problems.

Its now the start of the holidays. Does this make me happy? Like hell, it does. Means that the past week of hell is over (two exams DONE, I also coincidentally finished my Software practical tasks which makes life easier) and I get the next two weeks off to do whatever. Its great.

Yesterday was one of the nicest, calmest, most relaxingly refreshing days in a while. It was actually rather average, in sense of what happened, etc, but I think the peaceful averageness was part of the beauty – beauty enhanced probably by the fact that the week before it made me want to die so any recreation time would’ve been alright. So basically, the day started with the news that Holland won against Brazil, and a new Deathly Hallows poster revealed. Honestly it could have only gone uphill from there. Anyway, met up with Dillan, we went to the city. Went to JB Hi-fi and I got Misfits Season One and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Rubber Ducky Jnr <3). We then went to Hungry Jacks - I actually ate something for once - which a large amount of time consisted of criticising MTV. We then went off to a comic book store, chilled in there for a while, would've bought stuff if I had money (broke broke broke); Dillan got some zombie comic (forget what its called), then realised he wanted more zombie DVD's, so we went to another JB Hi-fi & he got a bunch of DVD's - all without zombies ironically enough. Then we just chilled, issues with trains so we had to walk from god-knows-where. I like walking. I like walking distances when its too cold to feel the cold and you're in a giggly mood. It was great.

But yeah, other than that, because its holidays I'm going to do a lot over here. I've already updated heaps over at my fanlisting collective, Accio Firebolt – I changed 4 fanlisting layouts. I’ve still got a bit to do over there (maintenance, a new layouts for a few more fanlistings and a new layout for the archive), so after I do that I’ll get onto putting up some more content here. Other than pre-made layouts (cos I get asked about them a fair bit), what content do you guys want? I’ve got a few texture sets to go up, so if anyone else has any suggestions, bring ‘em on! I really want to expand this site & make it awesome cos I want this all to be worth it, y’know?

Actually, I need to confess something. I mean, this is the kind of thing that most people do when they get new domains or whatever, but I love this domain and I don’t think the site can progress without the truth. Ok, so I’ll just… do it? Yeah. Kay. So… ‘Cassie’ is a pseudonym. Its not my legit name. I adopted it when I first started joining the internet when I was 12, so four years ago, back when Myspace was first popular & when kids got kidnapped after meeting people online, so my logic was if I used a pseudonym, I couldn’t possibly be hurt. And I guess just after these past four years, the pseudonym has stuck, which makes it hard now for it to come off. To be honest, I don’t even know if I want it to come off. But it needs to, y’know? So, yeah. My birth name is Jessica. I don’t like it, making ‘Cassie’ all that more desirable to use. Plus, its the same as Jess (obviously), making it kind of shit – not cos we have the same name, but cos she’s Jess, I’m not. But its my name. So I don’t know. I’ll probably do a massive swap over some time, as in sometime in the week, but yeah. I don’t like Jessica in full, so I won’t be “using” that, I guess, so it’ll either be Jess or some variation (not Jessie, never Jessie), but you can still call me Cassie if you want. Its still a nickname. And if anyone’s like ‘huuurrr she’s been lying to us she’s horrible huuurrr’ well, sorry? Haha not much I can do.

Fuck, that was a lot harder to say than it sounds. I’m actually really scared for your reactions. Heh. But you’ve got to move onwards and upwards, I guess.
