Hollaback Girl (Cover) – Foals

Again, late blog. Its cos Dillan came home late & I went to see him during the time when I usually blog. Update: We’ve broken up now. Its a shit situation. But I got to punch him.

The past week has been really bloody hot. First weeks of school always are. Today was lovely and like, 21*C, so. But yeah, that first week killed me. Luckily we managed to find a way to sneak into the single air conditioned room in our school. Sweeeet. Getting back into the routine is a bit weird, especially with a new timetable, but I’m getting back into it. School isn’t quite killing me yet. School photos tomorrow, however, will.

Also, as you can see, saw Black Swan over the weekend. I wrote a horrible review last night, here, so I guess yeah. I don’t know about that film.

Yeah, that’s really it. Busy week ahead & yeah. I don’t know, I’m so horrible with writing down anything lately. I apologise.

Heavy Water – Foals

This place really needs a new layout. The current one doesn’t seem to really like the photo posts that I’ve taken to doing. Oh well.

On Friday it was my 17th birthday. Its actually been one of the best birthdays I can remember; at school I was greeted with cards (including a very witty version of Seventeen magazine – I was on the cover cos I was, y’know, 17), flowers (white roses from Naoms), Hunger Games from Christine and a watermelon (for the past year Stacey has been walking past this watermelon stand & I asked for one for my next birthday, and she delivered. So much fun, cutting it open & eating it at school – naturally ended up in mess !). Noams & I also had a free period that day, so we ran around the school taking photos – girly, but fun. That night I went out to dinner with Maddie, Stacey, Stella and Yasmin which was lovely – we got all dressed fancy in heels & such and it was a lovely time.

Saturday I went out with Dillan & spent the whole day with him. We needed to get him some things, but after that we just did whatever. He bought me a Living Dead Doll (I have an affinity towards collectable dolls, which naturally means I’ll be mental when I’m old) which is creepy and yet amazing, she also came with a dagger necklace which I’m going to enjoy wearing. I also got myself a bunch of magazines as my own gift – cos you know how I am.

But yeah, its actually been a really good birthday. Quiet, subtle, but I guess that’s how I like things. No mess to clean, y’know? Now all I have to look forward to is a 4 more assessments and then summer!

Sometimes I wish I could film my life with super-speed camera’s and strobe lights.

Yesterday I finally saw a film in theatres, which is something I hadn’t done since Iron Man. Yes, its only been two weeks, but for the past 2 months I’ve been seeing HEAPS of films. Anyway, Dillan and I saw Robin Hood. It was actually a lot better than I anticipated. Yeah, Russle Crowe’s accent was all over the place, but the direction of the film was great. And the sets and stuff. AND MARK STRONG OMG I OFFICIALLY LOVE THAT MAN. He is SO GOOD. Other than that, though, there wasn’t much going for the film. At times you couldn’t figure out exactly what the film was about, what the main focus of the plot was on, which annoyed me. But its ok. I like it like I liked Avatar, it was a good film, just not my favourite.

I think lately film has really improved. I mean, I get a lot more excited about films than I ever did before this year. That could also be because I read Empire more religiously, but still. I mean, I can’t wait for A-Team to come out, and so far 2010 has produced some of my favourite films to date (aka Kick Ass and Iron Man 2). And with the way the world is evolving, film is only going to get better too! This is very exciting stuff.

The rest of Saturday was great, too. It did rain after we left the theatres (walking around the city in the rain is actually great, though, so I don’t mind), but Mountain Dew made up for that. It was also the night of Yasmin’s/Danielle’s/Elisha’s birthday celebrations. The three of them just bunched their birthdays together, and celebrated at Yas’. It was fun, we had bonfires & trampolines & cake & stuff. It did get cold, though. But it was great, I haven’t seen Stacey or Maddie at a party in ages and those two are great, so it was nice being with them. And Danielle. She’s so nice, it was great when she came to sit with us.

Lately I’ve really been in the mood for re-decorating my bedroom. I came across Olga Bennett’s photography portfolio, and she’s done a series of workspaces of people from various creative fields, like fashion designers and illustrators and the like. My favourite is Luci Everett’s space. I would love to have the chance to spice up my room, only my father still hasn’t gotten me a desk (I’ve had my current one since I was 6), or new shelves (my current ones are half-made and breaking), or doors on my wardrobe (so no mirrors, I have no idea how I step out of the house every day). Its incredibly irritating.

I am so not in the blogging mood right now. It has been raining a lot lately. Its officially winter, I guess, even if it isn’t June yet. Nearly is, though. Whatever. This is the end of the blog.
